Ölçme işleminde denetlenen çıkış değişkeni ölçülür. Karar işleminde, ölçülen değer ile istenen değer arasındaki hata hesaplanır ve bu hata değeri denetim uygulamasında kullanılır. Uygulama işleminde ise; değişkenler üzerinde hatayı azaltacak yönde bir denetim sinyali uygulanır.
