To Use Your Boiler Efficiently and Safely
- Cast sectional boilers are delivered in parts and assembled on the site. Boilers with steel casing are factory-assembled and delivered in single piece. Boilers cannot be assembled by users and inexperienced people due to their technology, otherwise material damage could occur.
- When changing their location, cast sectional boilers can be disassembled entirely and assembled at their new place. It is recommended that ALARKO CARRIER qualified services disassemble the boiler. Otherwise it may be damaged.
- Installation, electrical and flue connection works of the boiler should be done by experts.
- The floor the boiler will be placed on should be level and robust so as to carry the weight of the boiler and the boiler should be placed on a base and sheet plate that have the specifications defined in the assembly instructions.
- There should be spaces around the boiler as specified in assembly instructions for assembly, maintenance, and repair works.
- Commissioning, making required adjustments, and initial start-up controls require expertise. Trained ALARKO CARRIER service centers are authorized for commissioning the boiler.
- Do not supply water to the installation or the boiler when the boiler is hot. Wait for the boiler water temperature to drop below 40°C.
- If the boiler stopped automatically due to extreme temperature, do not supply cold water to the boiler to run it again. This may cause cracks on the cast sections. Wait for the boiler to cool down and try running it again, please call ALARKO CARRIER service if it does not start running.
- During operation, front cover of the boiler should be fully closed and burner connections should be fully tightened.
- If the burner does not ignite during the operation and the boiler stops, naked flame should not be used to check the the combustion chamber of the burner or boiler and the checks should be carried out using electric light.
- If the boiler will not be used for a long period of time, the power supply to the boiler control panel should be disconnected from the mains switch.
- When the boiler is not used (for example, during summer) run it for 5 minutes once a month to prevent circulation pumps to be jammed due to calcification.
- Before interfering with the boiler or the burner, disconnect the power supply to the control panel and perform the operations after having electric supply under control and taking safety measures.
- Control panel and electrical connections of the boiler are secured with a closed electrical panel located on the boiler. Control panel may only be opened by experts.
- Periodic and annual maintenance of the boiler and burner should be carried out regularly. Natural gas is a clean fuel. It does not excessively pollute the interior of the boiler, smoke ducts, the hood, or the flue connection. When using liquid fuel, excessive pollution could occur if the quality of the fuel and combustion are not good. Alarko Carrier boilers do not cause excessive pollution when using natural gas and liquid fuel due to their superior combustion technology. However, regular maintenance should not be neglected by suggesting that the boiler and the burner do not get polluted very much. Maintenance is necessary to have high efficiency of the boiler at all times, eliminate the possible malfunctions, and prolong the lifetime of the devices. This should always be remembered.
- Maintenance and repair of the boilers require expertise. In this manual, use and repair procedures which the user should follow are explained. Other than these, the user or the non-experts should not touch any part of the boiler or make any adjustments for operating, maintenance etc. purposes.
- Only the original spare parts recommended and supplied by ALARKO CARRIER must be used for maintenance and repair works.
- Boiler jackets may be cleaned with a wet and soapy cloth when the boiler is at standstill and cold. But the burner should be wiped with a dry and clean cloth. Active cleaning materials such as detergent should not be used when cleaning the boiler and the burner.
