The Winners of the 9th Global Climate Change Photography Awards are now Named

The winners of the 9th Global Climate Change Photography Awards organized by Alarko Carrier are now named. The submissions received for the awards expressed the striking effects of and the destruction caused by climate change, while underlining once again how vital recycling is for our planet.

The winners of the ninth Global Climate Change Photography Awards, organized by Alarko Carrier determined to draw attention to the effects of climate change on our world and the environment we live in, as one of the most important problems of the age, are now named. Nearly 1500 submissions were sent to participate in the awards, through Instagram and Twitter using the #AlarkoCarrierKüreselİklim2022 tag.

In the first stage of the assessment process, a preliminary selection committee comprised of Journalist and Photographer Adem Meleke, Gezgin Foto’s Editor in Chief Nihan Özgen Meleke, Alarko Carrier’s Vice President Hırant Kalataş, Alarko Carrier’s Corporate Communications Director Hüdai Öztürk, and Alarko Carrier’s Marketing Director Volkan Arslan as leading members, chose 90 photos. Then, 30 photos proceeded to the final assessment with the approval of the jury, with 20 competing in the general category and 10 for the special award for recycling.

Winning 13 photos were selected in a meeting of the jury to discuss all the candidates. The jury was composed of Journalist and Photographer Adem Meleke, Documentary Producer and Photo Journalist Coşkun Aral, Photographer Dilan Bozyel, Photo Editor and Photo Journalist of Milliyet Daily Ercan Arslan, and Photographer Mehmet Turgut, as well as Actress Ceyda Düvenci, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alarko Carrier Niv Garih, and Advertising Agency Serdesin’s President Serhat Bayram.

The owners of the 13 photos named by the jury are entitled to truly special awards by Alarko Carrier. All the winning photos named in the process are available on the address yarisma.alarko-carrier.com.tr

Bahadır Sansarcı, who got the top spot upon the review of the jury will get an iPhone 13 mobile phone. Arzu İbranoğlu, the runner up, will receive a 360 Action Camera, while İbrahim Şimşek, who got the third place, will receive a Photo Camera. Aytül Özdemir Akbaş, Nazım Özdemir, and Ufuk Turpcan, who got the fourth, fifth, and the sixth places respectively, will receive Projection Devices as awards.

Ramazan Çırakoğlu, Mutlu Taşpınar, Özgür Şahin, Hasan Urey, Muharrem Bahadır, and Ekrem Şahin, who got the fifth to twelfth places respectively, won gift certificates worth TRY 1,000.00. Bilal Ekşioğlu, whose photo was chosen for Alarko Special Award, won a Vahaa Smart Garden. Moreover, all winners named in top 13 won Atlas Magazine Subscription for 12 months.
