Alarko Carrier became the gold sponsor of the “Green Buildings and Cities Summit 2022 - Building Zero” event organized by the Turkish Green Building Council (ÇEDBİK).

Alarko Carrier became a gold sponsor of the ‘Green Buildings and Cities Summit 2022,’ which was organized by the Turkish Green Buildings Council (ÇEDBİK) with the cooperation of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change. Speaking at the event, Alarko Carrier Chairman of the Board of Directors Niv Garih said, “We took steps to emphasize opportunities in sustainability more forcefully.”
Alarko Carrier Chairman of the Board of Directors and Alarko Holding Board Member Niv Garih stated that Alarko Carrier considers sustainability not only in terms of the environment, but focuses on people, employees, and all stakeholders, and aims for social benefit and effective environmental awareness and added: “Alarko Carrier has played a pioneering role in numerous green or sustainable projects in its 70-year history. In the 1990s, Alkent Residences, Turkey’s first planned and ecologically conscious project, came to fruition as a project that directs and molds the demands of the real estate industry”. Niv Garih also gave information about the power plant projects that Alarko built within the years and said; “in our Karabiga HEPP Project, despite the fact that the plant’s construction cost increased by approximately 20% and resulted in an additional cost of approximately $150-200 million dollars in order to minimize the impact on the environment, we are able to continue our activities at the lowest point of the legal limits not only in Turkey but also in Europe and Middle East when the plant operates at full capacity.” Niv Garih said that they aim to expand into new areas of energy in the coming days and they are also working on new energy sources such as energy storage and hydrogen, and investigating potential investment opportunities.
