To use the common term, 2009 was the “start-up” year for the ACademi. During this period, the main functions of the educational platform such as opening new courses, student enrollment, monitoring, examinations and reporting were fashioned in-depth.
Our business partner in this endeavour, Oyak-Oytek quickly found solutions to problems. The contents of training programs, the examination system were formed. Following work on the curriculum, the training structure and basic course programs were determined.
The educational structure of the ACademi was formed as Main Department, Department, Major and Section. There are Technician, Engineering, Corporate Training / Personal Development, Administration and Management under the Main Department.
There are Departments under the Main Departments. For example, departments under the Engineering Main Department are Air Conditioning (AC) and Refrigeration Engineering, Heat Engineering, Energy Management, Building Management / Automation and Water Pressurization. There are majors and sections under the departments. For example, under the AC and Refrigeration Engineering Department the majors are Individual Systems, Light Basic Engineering, Development of Engineering, Advanced Engineering, Production and Research and Development Engineering sections. The courses at the ACademi are prepared as modules. Uniting the courses according to educational subjects forms programs. For example, the “Basic AC Training” applied for service technicians is such a program. This program is composed of classes and courses. The Directorate of Training Documentation prepares the contents and presentation of the training. Therefore some time is needed for the completion of the full curriculum of the ACademi. However, the plan for 2010 is to open all main departments and priority majors. Thus, training for the ACST employees will also start at the ACademi.
Audio was added to the training presentations in line with demands. It is believed that this will make it easier to follow and understand the courses. Information on the ACademi is at www.alarkoacademi.com.
