The award ceremony of the second “Young Painters of Alarko Carrier” painting competition organized among the children of authorized dealers, services and employees of Alarko Carrier in order to engage them in one of the most colourful branches of art was held on a private boat tour on which the winner paintings were displayed.

The award ceremony of the competition on the subject of, “Source of Life: Air and Water” was held on the evening of June 20. The winner paintings were displayed at the ceremony. In his speech at the ceremony Alarko Carrier General Manager Önder Şahin pointed out that they were very pleased to see that the second competition was met with as much interest as the one realized last year. Şahin went on saying, “Basing our choice on the indispensable needs of all humans on earth, this year we determined the theme of our second competition that we started organizing in 2007 with the aim of engaging children in one of the most colourful areas of art as; “Source of Life: Air and Water”. The objective in our choice was to create the awareness of protecting these two sources of life in children and to give them a chance to show us the future that they wish for combining their limitless imagination with their way of looking at the issue.

The paintings that were turned in proved that the new generation was very sensitive to the issue. The youth of the future gave us very significant messages with their paintings.” The jury of the competition consisting of Leyla Alaton (Board member of Alarko Holding), Hüsamettin Koçan (painter), Haldun Dostoğlu (manager of Galeri Nev) and Metin Oydemir (representative of Alarko Carrier) who had to select from almost 500 paintings send from all over Turkey awarded 1st prize to Ece Azra Yüksel from İstanbul in the 0-6 age group, and to Oya Ramazanoğlu from Kocaeli in the 7-14 age group. The 2nd prize went to Eylül Yöş from İzmir in the 0-6 age group and Berfim Gümüş in the 7-14 age group.

Winners of the 3rd prize went to Vahap Eren Babaoğlu from Ankara in the 0-6 age group and Merve Cansu from İstanbul in the 7-14 age group. Ufuk Berke from Bilecik, Zümre Özturk from Adana, Ozan Aygüney from Ankara, Aleyna Kaya from Istanbul, İlayda Pehlivanlı from Kocaeli, Deniz Özakşehir and Büşra Aslan from İzmir were awarded honourable mention. Competitors who were awarded prizes and honourable mention in both categories received various gifts. This year, too, the 13 award wining paintings will be used in the Alarko Carrier calendar.
